Sri Aurobindo School Celebrates Independence Day and the Birth of the Visionary Leader

Infused with the spirit of pride, solidarity and jubilation, Sri Aurobindo School of Integral Education celebrated the 75th Independence Day of India and 149th birth anniversary of the Legendary freedom fighter, Sri Aurobindo Ghosh. Owing to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the school opted for the virtual route for celebration by putting in place adequate safety measures and following social distancing. However, this arrangement did not hamper the zeal in the students for the grand event.

Message about virtual ceremony was conveyed to students and parents. The school live-streamed the event. The function commenced with the customary unfurling of the tricolour by the Chairman, Mr. Arvind Mehan along with the Principal, Mrs. Garima S Bhardwaj followed by the National Anthem.

The event was a spectacular amalgamation of music, dance and speech performances on patriotic themes by the students. The programme began with the melodious and soul stirring Shaloka Recitation. The school band presented a patriotic musical tribute to our courageous soldiers who leave no stone unturned to protect us from all dangers that confront our nation. Principal, Mrs. Garima S Bhardwaj congratulated everyone on 149th birth anniversary of Sri Aurobindo. She said we all are very fortunate to follow the principles laid down by Sri Aurobindo. She further added that the parameters for freedom have changed now. We are now not hold hostage by anyone but rather we are prisoners of our thoughts. To be free in true sense, it is important to free oneself from the bondages of laziness, procrastination, rat race and like.

The Chairman, Mr Arvind Mehan exhorted the students to spread the message of peace and harmony in the society.
